Performance Assessment is a way to check students' performance while they are accomplishing tasks.It is concerned not only about "what students know",but also "what they can do". So it has a great advantage in promoting students' development, improving teaching process,assessing advanced thinking and problem solving. Technology Design in General Technology Curriculum pays attention to the practice process while students accomplishing tasks which is similar to their living environment.It can not only check students in all respects,but also give effective feedback to teachers and students about teaching and studying while using Performance Assessment in Technology Design,and at the same time,it can also guarantee the effects of Technology Design's implementation.The characteristic features of Technology Design have been analyzed firstly,for example,it requires students' practice with their hands and brain,the practice process can be observed,the tasks given to students is similar to their daily life.And then,the connotation of Performance Assessment in Technology Design has been summarized,during students' practice process,teachers take part in it and observe them carefully,check students' performance such as integrated application of technology knowledge, the capacity of technique operation and cooperation during the process of formulating plans,making model or prototype,achievement test and showing it.It is good at promoting students' development through giving effective feedback, improving students' problem solving,and helping them to get to the heart of Technology Design. In order to check students' performance more completely, Primary Trait Analysis (PTA) has been made to use in the Technology Design class on the basis of communicating with specialists and teachers of Technology Education.At last personal reflection has been made on the basis of class observation,the feedback from teachers and students.It is that the assessment tool should be matured by constant revision,teachers' assessment capacity should be improved continuously,and the diversification of the main evaluators should be built to guarantee the effects of Technology Design's Performance Assessment. Assessment Standard could adjust to the practice condition of each school about General Technology Curriculum.
