Because of the complexity of the chemical subject itself, many students think the chemistry is very difficult to learn. This article investigates the thinking mode of students during the course of chemistry learning, so as to provide some help for the practical teaching activities. The research focuses on five aspects:the achievement and basic viewpoints of the three thinking mode in chemistry learning; the definition of the core concepts and classification of thinking mode; the theory's constructing about the three thinking mode, the investigation on the students'thinking mode; the analysis of the problem which appears in the test and the interview, putting forward some suggestions for teachers.Based on the questionnaire and the interview, we found that only a few students solve problems from the macro, micro and symbols aspects and more students are inclined to the macroscopic thinking mode; in chemistry learning, the phenomenon of mechanical learning is quite common and few students form good way of thinking for meaningful learning; besides the factors of students themselves, the influence of teachers can not be overlooked either.According to the survey, we put forward some suggestions:as a teacher, we should realize the importance of the three thinking modes firstly; we should make students know the significance of the three thinking modes; we can take some measures to help students learn the abstractive knowledge. In the end, we preview prospect for future research along with analyzing the problems existing in the thesis.
