The Current Situation Of Middle School Students' Citizen Consciousness In Xinjiang And The Research On Educational Countermeasure

As a kind of modern social consciousness, citizenship is a self-conscious understanding how citizens understand their social status and social right and social responsibility in their country, which mainly includes state consciousness, national consciousness, legal consciousness, moral and civilization consciousness etc and whose core is rights and responsibility consciousness. The health and stability of modern democratic society depends on equity and justice of its system on the one hand and citizen quality and attitude.Citizen consciousness is an important part of citizen quality, and eligible citizens should have healthy citizen consciousness, namely recognize their rights, obligations and social duty. President Hu Jintao in the report of the seventeen congress pointed out our country should enhance the education in citizen consciousness and set up the idea of socialist democracy and legal system, freedom and equality, equity and justice. This indicates Chinese government ranges the education of citizen consciousness into the overall layout of building modern country and structuring harmonious society. Since then, China's citizen consciousness rises up to policies from the research of academia and theory circle.Xinjiang where there are many ethnic group and religions is located in the northwest frontier of our country, and the situations are very complicated in ethnic groups and religions and border. In Xinjiang work conference held by the central authorities, president Hu Jintao pointed out that the work in Xinjiang has especial important strategic position in overall situation of our party and country works. The development and stability in Xinjiang bears on the overall situation of national reform, development and stability and on national reunification, national unity and national security and on the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The middle school students in Xinjiang are an important strength, and they are in the critical period to form their philosophy and values. For a long time,"Three Gangs"from home and abroad have attached great importance on the reactionary propaganda to the students by cultural infiltration through ethnic and religious problems. So it has an important significance for the future economic prosperity in Xinjiang and the achievement of the strategic objectives of leap-forward development in Xinjiang to enhance middle school students'citizen consciousness in Xinjiang and generally cultivate middle school students'consciousness of patriotism, independent, fairness, justice, competition, integrity and dedication. The article is composed of four parts. In the first part, the article clarifies the background andsignificance of the topic and then introduces and summarizes domestic and external current situation and experience of the education on citizen consciousness of middle school students. In the second part, the article mainly makes clear the related concepts on citizen consciousness of middle school students and its connotation and formation in Xinjiang and analyses the importance to enhance education on the citizen consciousness in Xinjiang. According to the results of the investigation, in the third part, the article analyses the reason of the problems in the current situation, including social reason, home reason, especially the reason of school education. In the forth part, based on the current status of the students of citizen consciousness, the article investigates and studies the strategy how to enhance middle students'citizenship from the angle of school education, home education and social environment structure apt to culture the students'citizenship.It has been the historical task to enhance the education on middle school students'citizen consciousness. We must ensure the education on middle school students'citizen consciousness to be enforced effectively and make the students participate socialist democracy and promote socialist market economy actively so that they are willing to do their best to build stable prosperous Xinjiang and harmonious society.
