Cross-cultural adaptation problems are unavoidable for overseas students learning and living in china. Along with the trend that number of foreign students in China is increased year by year, more and more scholars have given attention to this problem on educational circles of China.Based on the theories of cultural intelligence, cross-cultural adaptation and positive psychological capital, the thesis carries out systematized literature exploring and empirical studies, discusses the influence of cultural intelligence on cross-cultural adaptation of overseas students living in China, and investigates the moderating effect of psycap and social support. This research selects 151 international students in Wuhan University and HUST as the object of the study. Through the methods of interviews and questionnaires, it is found that the overall level of adaptation of overseas students is pretty overage, especially environmental adaptation and language adaptation level are lower, and the cross-cultural adaptation level show significant differences according to some of the demographic variables, such as Chinese proficiency, months in China and prior cross-cultural experience ages. Subsequently, the results of correlation analysis show that, higher cultural intelligence is related to better cultural adaptation. Therefore, this paper further explores the research question through regression analysis, which found that cultural intelligence of overseas students have significant influence on their cross-cultural adaptation, the impact of psycap on culture intelligence is same, and positive psycap and social support perceived by students have changed the relationship between cultural intelligence and cross-cultural adaptation on positive effect. In light of above conclusions, this thesis does some discuss and gives some suggestions on improving cross-cultural adaptation of international students in China.
