Research On Predicament Of Fund Raising For Nonprofit Organizations

Any organization's survival and development are inseparable from financial support.Nonprofit Organizations (NPOs) are not like the government which has own fixedrevenue, and are unlike the company which receives benefits through the market.Shortage of funds and financing difficulties has become the major problem of NPOs.Therefore, how to enhance the NPOs' financial ability, obtaining the funds needed of its'survival and development, have become the essential point of organization operators.Based on the further research of the domestic and international materials of NPOs, first,the paper introduced the concept, feature, form and function of NPO. Then it elaboratedthe specific performance of the financing predicament of NPOs, and analyzed the reasonsof it. Especially, it focused on analyzing the causes of low credibility. Finally, referring tothe causes of the financing predicament of the non-profit, it puts forward the way out ofthe financing predicament.The financing problem of NPO should be analyzed from three aspects:(1) Over-reliance on government funding, lack of owns income and accepting the low percentageof public donations are the specific performance of financing predicament of NPOs.(2)The inherent characteristics of NPOs restrict the organization's ability and methods ofobtaining operating funds and low income levels of citizens. Low social acceptance ofNPOs, common hitchhike phenomenon and low income level of citizens made a badexternal environment.(3) On the basis of the support of government, improving NPOs'credibility is the foundation of obtaining working capital for a NPO. Carrying outappropriate market-oriented operation is the long-term protection of financial support ofNPOs.With the needs of social development, NPOs have played a more and moreimportant role in national resources, population, environmental protection, helping thedisadvantaged groups, legal aid and emergency response. This article used literatureresearch method, comparative method and social investigation method. To strengthen theresearch on NPO has important theoretical practical significance. The development ofNPOs is conducive to promote interaction between the government and society, to compe -nsate the lack of market and government's failure, to provide public service, to enhancecitizen's moral awareness and to promote the formation of mutual care and values.
