After the PC was available to more and more people, web-base learning had become an important self-learning way and access to knowledge. The knowledge could be divided into two types: explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge, and many experts believed that the latter was the essential power of creation and innovation. China had made a great progress in web-based education, and planned to construct an innovative country, research on tacit knowledge transfer in web-based learning had a great academic and practical meaning.This research was based on documents study and experience summary. The literatures involved the latest domestic and oversea study in this field. This paper divided the process of tacit knowledge in web-based learning into three phases: initiating phase, conveying phase, achieving phase. In these phases, the obstacles were divided into four parts: externalization, communication, institution, conception. The tacit knowledge transferor and transferee's attitude, learning style, experience and previous knowledge reserve may affect the transfer result. Using IT technology to accelerate the tacit knowledge mainly focused on how to develop tacit knowledge transfer friendly learning resource and platform. Some advice was given to optimize the learning videos and platform, as follows: bring 3D technology into learning videos, add virtual experiment and blog function to web-based learning platform.The limitations of this study were as follows: have not a micro study on the tacit knowledge transfer psychological process, lack of quantitative methods like experiment and survey.
