Research On Model And Application Of Strategy Maps In Higher Education Institutions

With the reform of high education system in China, the competition in higher education market becomes much severer. In order to get more opportunities in limited resource, higher education institutions came to realize the importance of strategy planning. Some universities in our country started to develop their strategy planning, especially after the success of development planning in some western universities, while most of them haven't got satisfactory results. The reason is the lack of proper way to implement planning. What's more, that is because of the lack of an effective tool for describing strategy.As an effective tool, strategy maps can describe the strategy of an organization clearly. And it also includes some causal relationship. It provides a new idea to solve the problem that has discussed in the front. And it will increase the possibility of the success of strategy execution.This thesis adopts the method of combining theory analysis and empirical research. Considering the feature of higher education institutions, the thesis combines strategy maps and higher education institutions. This thesis's predominant research outcome includes two aspects. Firstly, it proposes three models of higher education institutions'strategy maps. They consist of the general strategy maps model of higher education institutions, strategy maps model of higher education institutions based on strategic priority, and strategy maps model of higher education institutions based on schedule. Secondly, it proposes the procedure of higher education institutions'strategy planning based on strategy maps. And the strategy planning based on strategy maps contains strategy maps, balanced scorecard, strategic action program and budget sheet.
