The new course standards in junior high school biology put forward brand-new curriculum theories and design ideas, and it paid great attention to the experimental teaching in biology. The new curriculum reform had been carried out for ten years; however, the situation about implementing the biology experiment courses in junior high school was still not perfect. In this paper, firstly, it classified the biology experiments in the new textbooks, then, made an investigation about the conditions of implementing biology experiment courses in rural junior high school in X City, Jilin City, Jilin Province and analyzed the reasons of these existing problems. After analysis, many factors that limited the implementation of biology experiment courses were found. They could be specifically listed as the following highlighted five aspects: Schools lacked of awareness of the experiment teaching; in teachers'opinion, they did not attach importance to the experiments; the teachers'ability in rural junior high school was not very strong; the students'ability of expressing and collecting information in rural areas was weak; and some experiment materials were hard to find in rural areas. The writer pointed out that although the rural areas were lacking in resources, it also had many unique advantages that many cities did not exist: junior high school had a strong geographical advantage; experiment materials and simple teaching aids could be easily found; rural students'perceptual knowledge was rich; they united and had a sense of cooperation. Regarding it as a starting point, writer started from the connection of"biology and environment", investigated the ecosystems on farmland, carried out the strategies of studying biology experiment teaching about the rural schools how to combine the actual situations in rural areas and made full use of the present resources. The study results fully showed that it was practical to carry out biology experiment teaching by taking advantage of local resources in rural areas. By using this way, it could achieve the aims and requirements of biology experiment teaching after the new curriculum reformed, it also could increase the experiment out rate in junior high school, and meanwhile it developed the students'ability of experiment and practice and increased the student's awareness of creation. Besides, writer also put forward some other strategies and suggestions, such as: changing experiment materials; creating new topics; carrying out experiment practice by making use of the local resources in rural areas.The writer hoped this paper could both be helpful and provided experiences for reference in junior high school implement biology experiment courses by making use of the local resources in rural areas.
