Objective:1. This research designed a course of filial education for primary school children.2. Explored the effect of filial education on parent-child relationship and filial perception and conduct.Methods:Non-equivalent group pretest and posttest experiments were designed in this research.79 middle grade students in primary school were subjects, and a total filial education of 10 lessons, each 40 minutes per week, were treated as independent variable, parent-child relationship and filial perception and conduct were treated as dependent variable. "Parent-Child Relationship Scale for Primary School Children" and "Filial Perception and Conduct Scale for Primary School Children" were used as tools, combining with "Parent-Child Conflict Questionnaire", "Curriculum Observati-on Record", "Parent-Child Feedback Sheet", "Curriculum Feedback Sheet" and the interview records(students, teachers and parents), used to discuss the effect of child-ren filial education.Results:1. Assessment from the students(1) Children filial education has more significant immediate effect on children's parent-child relationship and communication respect sub-scale in experimental group, and has significant effect on closeness and friendship association sub-scales, but no significant effect on appreciation reliance sub-scale.(2) Children filial education has significant immediate effect on children's filial perception, perception of thoughtfulness and feedback communication in experimental group, but no significant effect on perception of independence, self-control and parent-child contact.(3) Children filial education has more significant immediate effect on children's filial conduct, conduct of independence, self-control, thoughtfulness and feedback communication in experimental group, but no significant effect on conduct of parent-child contact.2. Assessment from students' parents of the experimental group(1) Children filial education has more significant immediate effect on children's parent-child relationship and friendship association sub-scale, and has most significant effect on communication respect sub-scale, but no significant effect on closeness and appreciation reliance sub-scales.(2) Children filial education has significant immediate effect on children's filial conduct, conduct of independence, thoughtfulness and feedback communication, but no significant effect on conduct of self-control and parent-child contact.3. Results from qualitative analysis(1) Students reviewed children filial education as favorite and favorable. Most stndents greatly liked courses, and were conscious of having gained a lot in cognitive, emotion, behavior and moral.(2) Parents reviewed children filial education as positive and favorable. Most parents reflected that children became independent and self-control, and could help parents to share housework etc., and that parent-child relationship became closer and more harmonious.(3) Teachers reviewed children filial education as favorable and to be improved. Teachers reflected that students had positive change in cognitive and behavior, but the curriculum need to be further perfected.Conclusions:1. Children filial education has some teaching effect in promoting parent-child relationship and filial perception and conduct for children.2. Children filial education curriculum designed in the research is operable and propagable to a certain extent.
