In the long-term study psychologists pay a lot attention to the cognitive and emotional neglect, there is less study about the emotional problems of primary and secondary school teachers. Emotion work is regulating and managing their emotional expression and emotional experience at work, to meet the needs and requirements of work. For primary and secondary school teachers, emotion work is not only affect the mental health of themselves and their students, but also affect the efficiency and effectiveness. Therefore, the emotion work problems of primary and secondary school teachers are worth to study and explore.This paper studies how emotional intelligence for teachers affects their work engagement, and in this process whether emotion work has an intermediary role.This study used survey methods, collected 444 samples of primary and secondary teachers of effective data in Heilongjiang, on the basis of summarized a large number of relevant literature, proposed hypothetical model, used analysis of variance, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, structural equation model and so on. Draw the following conclusions:The first, demographic variables showed, teaching experience had an obvious main effect on the dimensions of emotional intelligence, the dimension of depth behavior of emotion work and the focus dimension of work engagement. Education had an obvious main effect on evaluation of emotional self dimension of emotional intelligence and the dimensions of energy and focus of work engagement. Interactions among different variables were not significant.The second, the emotion work, the emotional intelligence and the work engagement of primary and secondary school teachers were related: the dimensions of each variables were related, only the surface behavior and the three dimensions of emotional intelligence was no significant correlation.The third, emotion work played an intermediary role in emotional intelligence on work engagement.The conclusion of this study had important theoretical and practical significance about the development of emotional psychology and improving teaching efficiency. But in China the research of emotional labor, emotional intelligence and work engagement are still in their infancy, not mature and perfect. In this study I only superficial attempt to these areas. There are a lot of theoretical and practical issues deserve further researching and exploring in the future.
