In the present Chinese teaching, " weakening grammar" is growing. This trend of thought does harm to Chinese teaching, especially for Chinese teaching in the secondary vocational classes. If Chinese is a subjedt tool, then the grammar is an important tool for Chinese learning. However, the singly recruited class students are a special student group,and because of the objective and subjective reasons causede by the students, their families, teachers, schools, and other aspects of society and so on, the situation of the students'grammar learning is worrying. In this paper, through literature research methods, teaching case analysis, survey research methods, and teaching effectiveness comparison, I analyse the important role of the basic knowledge of grammar in Chinese learning in secondary vocational classes: Grammar learning is conducive to training singly recruited students good sense of Chinese language;Grammar learning can improve the students'Chinese learning efficiency; Grammar learning helps to develop the students'habit of thinking in Chinese; Grammar learning helps students move more freely to cope with exams. To overcome the adversity, this article, from the four angles, that is , "putting right the location of the teaching of Chinese grammar," "Building a concise and practical system of basic grammar knowledge ", "choosing to use scientific teaching methods," "effects testing", tries to seek the effective strategies of Chinese grammar teaching for the singly recruited students in secondary vocational schools of southern Jiangsu province.
