The main task of secondary vocational education is to training the secondary professional and technical personnel who has certain basic theory and practical ability.As China has entered a new stage of development,industrial upgrading and economic restructuring had been accelerated.The demand for technical and skilled talents from all walks of life is becoming more and more urgent,as well as the important position and role of vocational education is becoming more and more prominent.Therefore,the nation has increased investment in secondary vocational education which is looked forward to raise more skilled talents for the society.The effective teaching condition of mathematics which is an important basic course at present in secondary vocational schools is not optimistic,because the school does not take into account the characteristics of students and their major,resulting a little teaching effect,which is not conducive to the formation of personality and career development of secondary vocational school students.Therefore,it is very necessary to improve the effective teaching of mathematics in secondary vocational schools.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Questions were put forward in the first part,and the research background,purpose and significance,research ideas and methods,literature review and theoretical basis of the subject were discussed.It also defined the concepts of secondary vocational school,secondary vocational mathematics,effective teaching and effective teaching of secondary vocational mathematics.Secondly,it analyzed the current situation of mathematics teaching in secondary vocational schools from the aspects of students' learning,teachers' teaching,teaching materials and the set of mathematics course,furthermore,discussed the causes of the relevant problems.That was the students' low interest and poor foundation,the traditional teaching methods of teachers,the divorcement of teaching content from specialty and the life and the inadequate attention paid to mathematics teaching in secondary vocational schools.In the third part strategies and suggestions for effective teaching of mathematics in secondary vocational schools were put forward.That is strengthen students' effective learning,enhancing their confidence,optimize the teaching content of mathematics,make it serve for the specialized course and define the teaching objectives of mathematics in secondary vocational schools.Attention should be paid not only to the leading role of teachers,but also to the main part of students.The effective teaching of mathematics in secondary vocational schools should take the students,teachers,teaching materials and schools as the key factors,establish the vision of serve economic construction and “lifelong education”,so as to cultivate comprehensive talents with professional skills and professional accomplishment for the society.
