In our country, the ideological and political education have great achievement, but the biggest shortage is the lack of students' subjectivity. In secondary school, students is the teaching object, more should be regarded as the teaching subject. It is an effective way to optimize educational function and improve teaching effect in ideological and political teaching that cultivating and improving students' participation consciousness and ability.Combined the experience in high school and thinking about ideology and political teaching, author describes current middle school students' participation consciousness and ability in ideological and political teaching from four aspects as follows:ideology and politics teaching value, ideology and politics teaching practice, ideology and politics teaching environment and family and society's influence, and then author tries to find specific methods of cultivating students' participation consciousness and ability. Through this method of theoretical analysis and teaching practice, author hopes to find an effective method of training students' participation consciousness and ability.
