Due to the development of the society, economy and the wide spreading of the information technology, even students, in comparatively pure campus, are impacted by the changing circumstance from all aspects. Affected by the unhealthy social atmosphere, some hold that knowledge is useless, while others come to study because of the stress from their parents. They are afraid of being forced to do farm work. All these lead to bad performance in their study. They don’t follow their teachers attentively and even don’t finish their homework. They take a casual attitude towards study and especially towards more abstract math. It’s hard for them to devote themselves to math study psychologically and cognitively.Meanwhile, traditional teaching methods predominate math classes. What’s worse, many junior schools focus exclusively on students’ scores. The result is that the teachers only attach importance to their own“teaching”, but neglect the “learning state” of the students. Students’ non-participation in class become alarming. This problem become so outstanding that it causes concerns from teachers, schools and society. How to make students study actively and zealously? How to let students participate in math class best?On the basis of professor Kong Qi ping’s questionnaires about students’ participation rate in math classes. I conduct researches on the issue – Junior Students’ Participate in Math Class. This paper will highlight three aspects. The first one is the present condition of the participation. The second is the comparison between the participation rate of the rural junior students and of the urban ones. The last but not least is to propose some reasonable and feasible suggestions on the grounds of the research result to increase the participation rate in math class.Based on the researches on the students, I hope to do good to the reform of math-teaching class in junior school.
