Since the new curriculum reform,the teaching has gradually changed from the teacher centered teaching mode to the student centered teaching mode and English teaching is also constantly exploring and reforming the student centered teaching model and improving the participation of students in English teaching.For the time being,the participation of students in English class is not high.How to improve the students' participation in the classroom without affecting the order of the classroom has become the focus of attention of most teachers.Through the questionnaires and interview this paper aims to understand the current situation and factors of the junior middle school students' participation in English class,and analyze the current situation.Finally put forward some scientific suggestions,in order to improve students' initiative and enthusiasm in English classroom learning.This study is mainly based on the questionnaire survey.In order to improve the research,this paper also uses the method of interview to explore the current situation of junior high school students' participation and its influencing factors.In this paper,the author chooses 450students from grade 1 to grade 3 in a common junior high school as the research object.A total of 450 questionnaires and interviews 6 English teachers and 12 students which are from grade 1 to grade 3.The author analyze the data by SPSS 17.0 and use the descriptive analysis and difference analysis.Make a supplement by the interviews of teachers and students.The main conclusions are as follows:First,the behavioral participation is slightly higher than the cognitive participation and emotional participation in English classroom in junior high school.There is a significant difference between the three grades of students in the English class:the third grade students have the highest level of behavioral participation and emotional participation,the first grade students have the highest level of cognitive participation.Second,the influencing factors of students' participation in junior high school English classroom are the following two aspects:students' learning motivation and teachers' teaching methods.Based on the results of the research,his thesis gives some advice according to the results of the research.For example,teachers should try to establish a correct concept of students'participation,and lead students to actively participate in the English lesson;develop students'interest in learning English and stimulate internal motivation of students' engagement;create a pleasant atmosphere in the classroom to make students happily participate in classroom teaching:design teaching activities fit for students and use flexible teaching methods to enable students to engage in classroom teaching.
