Nowadays the mathematics teaching of vocational schools should keep pace with the rapid development of the market economy and the information age. Based on the current situation, the thesis will analyze the significance of CBE model applied to the mathematics teaching from both the theoretic and practical perspectives. Theoretically, the thesis argues that CBE model is instrumental in improving the vocational mathematics teaching so that it is instructive to enrich the vocational mathematics teaching. Meanwhile, the thesis points out that put into practice, CBE model will optimize the mathematics teaching by cultivating students'ability and meeting the market demands for students of vocational schools.In comparison with the traditional teaching mode, the thesis explores the characteristics and implementation of CBE model and claims that CBE model has lots of advantages in application to mathematics teaching with its advanced concepts as far as students, mathematics learning, curriculum and knowledge acquisition are concerned. Thus the model promises the reform of the mathematics teaching of vocational schoolsFurthermore, the thesis will present some new ideas in improving the CBE model and some solutions to the practical problems as the model carried out in the mathematics teaching of our school. Systematic and ideal though CBE model is, it is not faultless. It should be integrated with other advanced teaching modes and the real situations of schools so that it will be able to best serve students, vocational schools and society.Finally, it should be made clear that the thesis takes the mathematics teaching as its research object limited to the students of the year 2009 from Communications Engineering department and Business and Trading department with Urban Rail Transport and Cuisine and Nutrition as their majors respectively in Suzhou Institute of Construction and Communications.
