Quality education is a best for training development type of personnel in our country; however, the current appraisal system based on examination leads to attention to knowledge but little capability in basic education, with students having high marks but low ability. In traditional high school English teaching, learning methods using memory knowledge and analyzing and understanding texts makes students feel at a loss with the usage of language. New curriculum develops the basic language ability and trains students to attain and handle information via English and the ability to analyze and settle problems and enables students to think and express in English. Network teaching environment is more and more widely used in the process of IT information and course combination with the characteristics of free of time and place, easy to exchange and rich resources; while there are more and more studies about high school teaching models. Thematic instruction model is based on theme organizing teaching contents,students explore and fulfill the task, which adapts to the requirements of students'ability from new curriculum. Under this background, the writer put forward thematic instruction model of high school English teaching in network environment.This study analyzed current situation of high school English teaching, pointing out that high school English thematic instruction model is an effective way to settle problems and introducing historical reform and present development related to the study. Theory, function aim, achievable conditions, activity process and evaluation, the five factors form thematic instruction in network environment, studying it; analyzing practical effects of high school English thematic instruction, finding out causes of mistakes; correcting the format of teaching model and achieve the best teaching effects.This study aims to enrich the study of our country's high school English teaching theory and practice in network environment and offer help and reference to the education and teaching study and practice of high school English.
