As Standard of History Curriculum of full-time Compulsory Education (experimental draft) promulgated by Department of education in July 2001, History Curriculum Reform has totally implemented. In this reform,"one outline one textbook"was substitute for"one standard many textbooks". Take history for example, People's Education Press edition,Beijing Normal University Press edition,East China Normal University Press edition,Sichuan Education Press edition,Yuelu Publishing House edition,ZhongHua Book Company edition successively appeared for compulsory education. Among these editions, People's Education Press edition,East China Normal University Press edition,Beijing Normal University Press edition are longest used and widest covered around the country. As a carrier of knowledge and a tool of knowledge transfer, textbook is the teaching basis. As one of the key points, textbook plays a direct impact on the success or failure of this reform. In this reform, curriculum standard is the only criterion and the most important basis for textbook writing. Every textbook tries to describe objectively and accurately to what happened in the past in an impartial attitude, but different materials narrates diversely for the same historical events due to the different understanding and cognition. There is no unified standard in how to write a history textbook and how to evaluate it. All about this is what we should deliberate. This thesis selects issues related to "the American Revolution" in high school history teaching of the compulsory education as the object, to make comparative studies of relevant sections in textbooks written by People's Education Press edition,East China Normal University Press edition and Beijing Normal University Press edition. Combined with the history curriculum standard (experiment draft) ", this thesis probes into the textbook writing from academic point, gets the optimal principle by comparison, and gives advice for the future textbook writing. In the last part, according to the research results, write a textbook related to"the American Revolution"tentatively in practice to expound the author's design concept in world history section in junior high school.
