Teachers' All-Around-Development-Oriented-Teaching: Its Present Situation And Countermeasures

In his Allgemeine Padagogik (General Pedagogics) Published in 1806,Johann Friedrich Herbart Proposed"the educational Principle of teaching",from which originated the notion that"Teaching should be educationally oriented not just lies in the training of knowledge and skills",That is a well-received theoretical Principle in the education circle, that is to train a student to be integrity and ability well-being. However,in practice, we notice that to teach a student to be a high scored one and to cultivate a student to be a developed in a all-round way is not always the same thing. With only knowledge integrated can not train nice person, because the accumulation of a person's knowledge and the development of his character is not a natural transitional period. Besides, it lies in during or after the process of the acquisition of knowledge with the help of specified guidance and in-depth reflection. This is what the teachers should and must do. Only with intentional leading can true"good"person be created and the teacher's occupation being realized.Today's school education emphasizes on academic achievement and transition rates too much because of the imperfect of the evaluation criteria. Teachers spend most of their time and effort on this respect too, ignoring their basic work is to cultivate talent; even they do cultivate talent in their teaching process, their teaching way is just to inform or tell students directly and their teaching content is to explain and teach the social norms, that is too boring and stiff to take any effect, and it deviates fundamentally from the original intention of education.In this essay we talk about the current situation, reason and suggestions towards primary and middle school teachers'on"yuren"(literally translated as"all-around-development-oriented teaching"). Admittedly, here cultivate is in his narrow sense. and states that teachers should take a variety of measures and methods to educate students morally and ideologically in order to develop them in an all-around way. Of course, it didn't equal to that the cultivation of knowledge is denying the true meaning of all round education. The goal of education is to educate rather than to train a person, and it aims at the all-around development of the person. The above is the goal of the institutions of school education and the pursuit of teachers in their career. It is a principle that all the educators and teachers should stick to in their teaching career. I hope that the teachers can understand the situation of their work and its imperfection in their work, also analysis the reason that causes these problems. and propose suggestions on them, I also hope that the school and teachers can join their hands and do what they can to the cultivation of the students'in a all-round way.
