| Migrant workers are confronted with a handful of troubles in cities, among which the difficulties to access education for their children are one of the most talked about. Starting from the point of social policy,the education strain on migrant workers'children is resulted by the social and educational policies in our country. On the one hand, the government has unveiled various policies to push forward the urbanization and the shift of rural plus labor force. On the other hand, the educational management system practiced in our country is centered on the county level which means children go to schools in surrounding neighborhood. Hence, to solve the education problem of migrant workers'children in effective way enquires governments at all levels to adopt a series of social policies and compensating measures.I have been focusing on dealing with the school-entrance issue of migrant workers'children since I worked for the Education Bureau of Qingyang District, Chengdu and have a clear understanding of the strains those children face in school-entrance problem. Firstly,I conducted a survey on the condition of the migrant workers'offsprings` compulsory education in Qingyang District. Focusing on their school-entrance issue during the compulsory education period, I mainly investigated on the problems they faced with in terms of school-entrance policy and opportunity. Under the help of questionnaire, I surveyed within the Qingyang District, on the three aspects: migrant workers, their offsprings, and the schools, in order to get an insight into a variety of problems their offsprings have encountered. And I`ve summarized about those school-entrance issues I found during the survey, analyzed the reasons bringing those problems. Combining the previous achievement in this field and the experience extracted from the survey, I came up with some solutions about the migrant workers` offspring` school-entrance issue. Based on aforementioned result, I formed this dissertation. |
