It is widely accepted that vocabulary is very important in language learning. They just follow the traditional way, memorizing them mechanically, resulting in vain.Based on the literature review of cooperative learning and the study of vocabulary learning strategy, the author of this thesis tries to prove that vocabulary learning through the strategy of cooperative learning is effective, improving students'enthusiasm in English learning. Two classes which are taught by the author herself served as the participants of this study. One class was the experimental class while the other was the control class. In study, students in the experimental class studied vocabulary cooperatively, while students in the control class learned the same vocabulary in the traditional way. At the start of the study, the author pretested the two classes to see their achievements. In the following four months, the author tested the two classes to every month to see the learning effect of the strategy of cooperative learning in vocabulary learning and also to see when the strategy of cooperative learning begin to take effect. The form and time of each test is all the same.Facts regarding the study, the effect of vocabulary learning via cooperative learning is quite obvious. The method does not only improve students'grades but also stimulates their interests in vocabulary learning.
