The Post-80's and Post-90's generation get social universal attention, for their eccentric style and new value orientation. This phenomenon is not only reflecting the new era culture, also represents the future society development direction, which contains profound interpretation of value. The mass media are tracking this social group from living conditions, education, the model's strength, mental situation, cultural development and social adaption, along with shaping and constructing the stereo and distinct 80s-90s university students' media image. The behavior of media not only affects the society to 80s-90s students' evaluation and cognitive, also affect the self definition and goals establishing of this group.Based on the professionalism theory, communication theory, sociology and culture theory, this paper makes a research on China Education Newspaper's 80-90 university students'reports since 1998 to 2010 by using the text analysis method. The research includes the quantity, regional, theme, news source, genre, and college students'media image of reporting. According to the results of analysis, regional reports from China Education Newspaper tend to balanced development; the theme of Directionality tend apparent, the variety of theme tend abundant; the media image of 80s-90s university students 80-90 is converted from elite to ordinary people, from "simplification" to "diversity", from "all-around champion" to "ordinary mortal ".Changes in reporting are closely related to changes in the higher education, social concept, college-students' characteristics and media of China. These changes help social formation respect and understand and care of university student group public opinion environment, while helping students improve their understanding, obtain the professional information and scientific guidance. The mass media also obtain resource advantage from changes to enhance their competitiveness and expand social effect.Through the analysis of the purpose of these changes, the China education newspaper perspective of university student group 80-90 reappearing after image with shaping evolution, reap experience, remedy defects such reports, and to explore the improvement methods and approaches. Both in theory enriches and develops the media social groups, and scope of image research in practice of university student group for media reports and other social groups offer beneficial reference image construction.
