The Research Of The Mental Demands Satisfaction On The City Empty-Nesters

With the trend of an aging population and implementation of family planning policy, in addition to population migration and mobility which due to social development, there are a growing number of empty-nesters in China, and it has expanded constantly. The city empty-nesters have much more security from material; in contrast, they have diverse mental demands. Therefore, it is necessary to meet mental demands of empty nesters.In this thesis, the survey objects are empty nesters groups and non-empty nesters groups from Nanmen community, Zunyi city, Guizhou province. It uses the questionnaire to compare the two groups. Then it uses the data from the questionnaire and personal interviews of empty-nesters to analysis issues.There are three parts in the thesis:the first part, it mainly has four aspects:from the trend of population aging, from the formed reasons of the empty-nesters and their development status, from the diversity of mental demands of empty-nesters, from the necessity of building harmonious society in China., to show the necessity of the city empty-nesters to meet the mental demands. The second part is an empirical study on mental demands satisfaction of city empty-nesters. It analyzes the characteristics of empty nesters groups and non-empty nesters groups base on the population of the community Zunyi City Guizhou Province. Through the relevant survey data, it sums up the characteristics of empty-nesters:the first is economic relative independence; the second is poor healthy status; the third is boring daily life. Above all, it can conclude the urgency of meeting the mental demands satisfaction of city empty-nesters. Then, based on the theory of Maslow's needs, the theory of social activities, the theory of McClelland's achievement motivation, there are four mental demands of city empty-nesters:emotional demands respected demands, development demands, rights demands. Finally, through the empirical research on the satisfaction extent of the mental demands of city empty-nesters, the data shows the shortage of mental demands satisfaction of city empty nesters. The third part is the real situation of the empty-nesters lacking of mental demands satisfaction, there are four main aspects:First is the city of empty nesters themselves; second is family; third is the community; fourth is the solutions from the government on meeting the mental demands of empty-nesters.
