Under the circumstances of China’s economy entering a new normal, increasing aging population and small-scale family structure, the problems of diminished offspring support and insufficient social service system for the elder result in more prominent supporting problem and more serious situation in China aging before wealthy. Nowadays, individual demands for the old are not only material needs in daily life, but also psychological needs such as family concerns and social care. Considering the unique condition of empty nesters who have intense spiritual demands and growing proportion of empty nesters in Chinese families, the key point is how to improve physical and mental health of empty nesters that we have to do a lot of work to solve those problems.The subject of this study is to improve physical and mental health of empty nesters and do some practical researches. Take G day-care center in Gusu District for an example.Adopting qualitative research methods, I have obtained a large amount data in field survey and try to find out problems and causes of urban empty nesters, then use team work method in social work and get an effectiveness assessment,finally I will give some suggestions. Above all, this study will improve empty nesters’ physical and mental health in this day-care center, and provide a reference for other areas to deal with the problem of empty nesters. Even though there are some differences in different areas, still have something in common.
