On Implementation Situation Of Allowances For Class Sponsors In Compulsory Education Period In Pi County Of Chengdu

A Class is the basic unit of education and teaching at school, and a class sponsor plays a vital role in class management, student cultivation and the establishment of school, family, society education network. In 2009, Education Ministry announced The Work Regulations for Class Sponsors in Middle and Elementary Schools, which marked the further enhancement of the class sponsor's professional status and clearer definition of the responsibilities. Since the implementation of performance-related pay system in the compulsory education period, allowances for class sponsors have been involved. Teachers hold different views about the issue, which causes new problems for school management.By using mainly questionnaires, the study investigates implementation situation of performance management of allowances for class sponsors in Pi county of Chengdu, analyses existing problems and their reasons, and puts forward improving suggestions.The research contains four parts. The first part states the current research on the issue and introduces the study design. The second part presents the findings of the study: the results of the questionnaires and interviews: class sponsors are not satisfied with the current allowances, and so on. The third part analyzes the general reasons which cause the class sponsors to be unsatisfied with the allowances since the implementation of performance management. The last part offers proposals for improvement on performance evaluation of allowances for class sponsors in the ways of society, school and teacher.
