Along with growing numbers, the female postgraduate as a special group have increasingly drawnattention of some social people and scholars. The female postgraduate with multiple roles are in thestage of the life role of conversion and confronted with great difficulties and restrictions for the reasonof physical qualifications, so they need various social supports to relieving their pressure. Above all, toresearch such topic that how the female postgraduate relieve their pressure, improve theiraccomplishment and enhance the core competitiveness of the future, has an important practicalsignificance and the times value.Giddens ' theory provides a new perspective of constructivism for this research. From theperspective of Giddens' structuration theory, this thesis discusses social supports based on the femalepostgraduate relieving development pressure. This study finds that the development pressures comprisessuch dimensions as employment pressure,academic pressure,social pressure,life stress and thepressure caused by the contrast between expectation and reality and so on. There are many reasons ofsuch pressures: discursive consciousness (self-doubt,Self-cognition,Role Strain),social genderawareness,practical consciousness and life changes, etc. Besides, this study further explores theexisting problems in the social supports according to Giddens' structuration theory, which includes suchfollowing aspects: First, with some rules of the social supports made certain amendments, the femalepostgraduate can probably get maximum amount resources; Second, complying with the pattern ofstructure-form-function to discuss, this study finds how the female postgraduate acquire social supportslack interaction between regulatory rules and explanatory rules; Third, this thesis deeply researchesinitiative problems of the female postgraduate as well as the interaction patterns between social supportsand social contexts. The conclusion is that the female postgraduate are actors who posses knowledgeand skills, and being in the structuration of social supports, they can be free to choose on some extent.What's more, the progress of acquiring social supports is also the increasing improvement ofself-reflective.
