Research On Construction Of Regional Central City Of Handan In The Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan Area Provincial Border Regions

The Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan area provincial border regions is located in the the edge of the four provinces,away from the economic radiation from big cities.Because of the influence of administrative divisions, the border region seven cities belong to four provinces. The rigid constraints of administrative boundaries limit the cooperation and exchange between cities from different provinces. To sum up,the above factors lead to Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan area provincial border regions backward economy, which shows obvious"administrative region border economy",formed"economic subsidence area". Central city is always the regional development core , plays a dominant and leading role in the regional development. Accordingly, it is very important to construct a central city in the Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan area provincial border regions, which makes a regional development core and economic growth pole, drive surrounding areas to develop, and then promote the development of the whole area.Based on the related theory, this paper analyzes the possibility and actual conditions of buliding regional central city of Handan in the Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan area provincial border regions through qualitative and quantitative methods, provides corresponding countermeasures according to present situation. This paper has three main parts. The first part (chapter3) , analyzes present development situation and characteristics of Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan area provincial border regions on the location, economy, resources and cultural aspects, especifically the the current situation of the development of the handan.The second part (chapter 4) is the core.Firstly, it analyzes the necessity of construction regional central city of Handan in the Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan area provincial border regions from the regional economic development handan their own development. Secondly, researchs the realistic conditions of construction regional central city of Handan with the method of qualitative analysis.Thirdly, researchs the city radiation ability of Handan through the"Breaking Point Theory".The last, sets up the urban competitiveness index system, and evaluates the comprehensive competitiveness of seven cities of the Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan area provincial border regions using Principal Component Analysis, demonstrates the feasibility of handan to be the regional central city.The third part (chapter 5), combined with the Shanxi-hebei-shandong-henan area provincial border regions and handan its own characteristics, put forward corresponding countermeasures of construction regional central city for Hanan in the light of the problems existing in its development.
