Medical device industry in our country is in its developing stage and many medical device enterprises operate in this industry. With the sustained and rapid national economic growth, some medical device enterprises continue growing and prospering which are more competitive and develop more rapidly than others. Omron Healthcare (China) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to Omron Healthcare (China)), which mainly produces the medical devices is growing bigger and bigger although it is facing the pressure of competition. In order to develop and prosper, Omron Healthcare (China) must carry out strategic management and set up effective competitive strategies.In the paper, I utilize the basic theories of strategic management to analyze and study the external environment and internal environment of Omron Healthcare (China) Co., Ltd. and provide the blueprint of competitive strategies for the company.Firstly, I analyze the external environment including the macro-environment and the competitive environment of the industry. In the macro-environment, I mainly analyze the development of medical device industry in China, political environment, economic environment, social and cultural environment and technological environment. In the competitive environment of the medical device industry, I mainly analyze five competitive forces. Then I come to the external factors evaluation about Omron Healthcare (China). Secondly, I analyze the internal environment including the resource, the capacity, the core competition ability about Omron Healthcare (China). Thirdly, SWOT analysis shows opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of Omron Healthcare (China). By analyzing the external environment and internal environment, I suggest differentiation strategy is the appropriate competition strategy for Omron Healthcare (China). Finally, safeguard measures for Omron Healthcare (China) to implement differentiation strategy are discussed.
