Research On Influential Factors Of Intrapreneurship Performance

Intrapreneurship is the force for a company to keep sustainable competence. Compared with entrepreneurship in new start-ups, intrapreneurship opens a new department, establishes new products or services, new technologies, starts new market opportunities or introduces new management ideas on the basis of exist resources. So there must be many differences between intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship. Then what are the factors affecting the realization of intrapreneurial performance? Is there any difference of the positive role for entrepreneurial orientation in promoting intrapreneurial performance?Factors that influence intrapreneurial performance are identified based on a broad literature review. It mainly involves individual factors, organizational factors and the external environmental factors. The individual factors are measured by the variable of leadership style which is divided it into transformational and transactional leadership styles. The organizational factors are measured by the organizational culture, resource and capacity. External environment is measured by dynamics, complexity and hostility. A model is established based on the above analysis and hypotheses are given then. Data are collected by a questionnaire survey conducted among 300 MBA students in Shandong University. Of completed questionnaires,146 ones are valid. reliability and validity analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis are implemented by SPSS16.0.The study has several major findings. Transformational leadership style can produce higher intrapreneurial performance. Innovative and supportive organizational culture produce higher intrapreneurial performance. While rich resources and competitive abilities will ensure higher intrapreneurial performance. Hostility of environment has negative influence on intrapreneurial performance. Function of dynamics and complexity of environment didn't pass the significant test which is different from new start-ups. Socially entrepreneurial orientation is an important dimension. And all the factors, influence intrapreneurial performance, especially profit performance through entrepreneurial orientation.
