As the process of economic globalization and regional economic integration accelerating, international economic trade and regional economic cooperation has developed vigorously. The commerce between China and neighboring countries is deepening. It is urgent needs that China customs participates in international customs affairs actively. Strengthening cooperation with other countries or regions customs and promoting customs joint supervision with adjacent countries or regions are the inevitable choice for China customs to adapt the situation of trade facilitation.To adapt to the situation, China has attempted to carry out the customs joint supervision with Kazakhstan and Mongolia, and opened the door in pragmatic customs cooperation with other countries (regions) in recent years. Although the attempts of joint supervision have made some achievements, the related concept is not clear, there still exists many difficult problems because of the various restriction factors. So how to solve the problems and choose the right mode is still an important task for China customs to face currently.In this paper, the author analyzed the relevant backgrounds and defined the customs joint supervision through the angle of promoting trade facilitation. Then paper not only discussed the role and significance of customs joint supervision between China and Mongolia but also analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of customs joint supervision. At last, the author put forward the constructive suggestions to improve and develop the customs joint supervision between China and Mongolia based on the domestic and international experiences for reference.From the angle of logical and relevance, this article was divided into six parts. In the introduction the author put forward the background and significance of the research, and summarized the relevant research at home and abroad, then introduced the research ideas and methods. In the first chapter the author introduced the concepts of trade facilitation, customs international cooperation, customs joint supervision and the relationship between them. In the second chapter the paper introduced customs joint supervision between China and Mongolia, and analyzed its environment and pilot situation. In chapter 3, author analyzed the role and significance and the restriction factors in customs joint supervision. In the fourth chapter, paper analyzed the customs joint supervision on comparing with mainland and Hong Kong, China and Kazakhstan, China and Mongolia. At last. In chapter 5 the author gave the suggestions to improve and develop the customs joint supervision between China and Mongolia.
