Since the reform and opening up to the outside world, the economy of Xinjiang has grown up rapidly, the residential income and living standard was improved greatly. At the same time, the income distribution has changed and the residential income gap has became stand out, especially compared with inland provinces. This problem has been trobuled the reform and development of Xinjiang. How to deal with this problem will affect the stable development of Xinjiang economy and society. According to this face, his paper chooses make research on the urban residents' income gap as a subject.This paper widely absorbs the results of academic research related income gap of redidents in recent years, and use the related economic theories comprehensively. This paper is divided into six parts, specific content as follows:PartⅠ:The first patr is the introduction of the whole paper. This part mainly describs the background, research purpose and significance of this paper, and gives our research framwork and thinking on the basis of literature both from our country and abroad.PartⅡ:The theoretical analysis and the measuring methodes about the income gap. This part introduces the related thories of the income gap, and describes the measurement method and index selected. Besides, we discussed the the influence of income gap and the necessity of narrowing it.PartⅢ:A analysis of the income gap between urban residents in xinjiang. We make a comparative analysis from the main source of revenue in xinjiang urban residents, and the status quo of the income gap, characteristics and trend of change, and change of the income gap between urban residents of our whole country.PartⅣ:The comparative analysis of income gap between xinjiang urban residents and the mainland. This part is mainly analyzes from four different aspects:the different income groups, between different industries and different types of ownership.PartⅤ:This part is the analysis of formation mechanism of the income gap between Xinjiang urban residents and the Mainland from both qualitative and quantitative analysis.PartⅥ:This part gives some countermeasures to narrow the income gap between Xinjiang urban residents and the Mainland, we absorbs the experiences from abroad and from the national regional level, the policy expression.
