As the external manifestation of industrial clustering, economic development zones play an active radiation, exemplary and leading role in the promotion of industrial restructuring, development of regional economy. The level of intensive use of land in economic development zones of Jiangsu province presents imbalance in space and the gap among regions is continuously widening. Therefore, researching on the spatial differences of intensive land utilization and grasping the spatial dependence characteristics of land utilization of economic development zones, not only can promote the allocation of urban land resources, but also have an important significance on understanding the intensive use of land utilization of economic development zones in current status, and also implementing the sustainable development strategy. This thesis regards 83 economic development zones in Jiangsu Province as the research objects, using intensive land use theory location, land payment decline theory and spatial statistics as guidance. Studying the spatial variability of land utilization of economic development zones based on the evaluation data of it. First introducing principal component analysis method, extracting the principal components from the 11 factors of impacting intensive land use zones(other than industrial land output intensity), establishing a comprehensive evaluation model of intensive land utilization. According to the model, it measures the strength of industrial land with intensive land use degree of rationality; and then applying the factor analysis mothod to divide different types of intenstive land utlization and analyse the restrictive factors of intensive land utilization in different regions; based on which, studying the spatial correlation of the main parts and analyses the industrial agglomeration effect. Through the establishment of spatial regression models, it explores the industrial land in the initial output intensity and the quantitative relationship between the principal components, which shows that intensive land use zone has significant spatial aggregation characteristics. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1) based on the principal component analysis, the extracted five principal components can better reflect the basic original information and explain the original variable powerfully; which were the land put into - use intensity principal component, the main component of industrial land status, land transfer - the development status of the main components of land supply situation of the main components and principal components of land into;2) the principal component analysis based on intensive use of land evaluation model is able to reflect the degree of intensive land use development zones more accurately;3) it is have strong correlation between the output intensity of industrial land and the intensive utilization of land development zones; 4) using factor analysis, the factors which limit intensive land use zone is divided into five types:factor which limits the land investment-use of strength, factor which limits the industrial land condition, factor which limits the degree of the land utilization, factor which limits the land transfer situation, factor which limits the completion status of the land. And it also reveals the intensive land use zone of Jiangsu Province in the course of the deficiencies;5) the spatial statistical analysis showed that principal component of the degree of intensive land use zone exists in a certain spatial autocorrelation, and the Land investment - use the strength has the most significant effect of spatial concentration, followed by the land transfer situation and the industrial land condition; and it proved that the development zones of intensive land use of Jiangsu Province has significant degree of spatial aggregation characteristics.
