Fujian Province, The Coordinated Development Of Regional Spatial Research

The policy of Reform and Opening up accelerates the development of Fujian. It laid a good foundation for construction of Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone. But In the development process there are still some problems to be solved, especially in the area between mountain and sea space uncoordinated intensified conflicts, which restricts the sustainable development of Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone. Furthermore, due to the administrative divisions and the management system and other reasons, the cities of Fujian focus only on self-development, lack of effective mechanisms for coordinated development of regional space .It is difficult to form the overall regional development. This paper attempts to discuss the problem of economic coordination in Fujian Province in space angle.It's still a relatively new one in this field, and has some theoretical and practical significance.This paper adopts a comprehensive evaluation method and the self-organizing maps (SOM) neural network method to measure coordinated development of Fujian. And has obtained Fujian is obviously lack of coordination in space. An analysis of nine cities in Fujian Province on coordination development has also been provided.Xiamen, Fuzhou and Quanzhou are considered as a higher spatial coordination area, Zhangzhou, Longyan, Sanming, attributable to the medium, and Putian, Nanping and Ningde, is to be included in the lower space coordination area . After Empirical analysis, the author put forward the problems need to be solved in the coordinated development of Fujian.The paper has also made an in-depth analysis of existed methoeds of the spatial coordination in Fujian and re-examine the problems in the practice of coordination, such as the imperfection of coordination mechanism system, provincial coordination method is single, lack of legal protection in regional planning etc. Finally, Some advices has been given to the realization of spatial coordination in Fujian.This thesis not only provides scientific basis for decision making for all levels of government to develop economic and social development goals, but also provide a reasonable theoretical guidance at the meso or micro level, the government and enterprises to make business decisions.
