In recent years, our country's electronic commerce has been developing quickly. More than ten millions of the small and medium-sized enterprises have succeeded in developing the domestic and global markets through the third-party B2B electronic commerce platform. Particularly,B2B electronic commerce in Zhejiang Province develops rapidly, which has occupied 70 percents share of our national B2B market. At the same time, with the development of global economic integration and the increasing market competition, the competition among enterprises has also been evolved into the overall competition among different value chain systems. The development of electronic commerce urgently needs scholars to do research on the phenomenon of the enterprises gathering at the third-party B2B platform in order to instruct the practice well. That the study on enterprises'clustering effect of the third-party B2B platform from the value chain perspective can enrich the enterprises cluster theory, B2B theory and value chain theory. Alibaba is a reputable third-party B2B platform. The paper takes the enterprises on Alibaba as an example to make research about their clustering effect from the perspective of value chain, which has the constructive significance to the enterprises'development under the electronic commerce environment. As to the research perspective, this paper introduces value chain theory as a instrument into studying the enterprises'clustering effects. Through reviewing the previous literatures, the research about industrial clusters based on the value chain perspective is much, while the research about the enterprises'clustering effect on the third-party B2B platform is little. Moreover, the previous research about B2B enterprises'clustering effect focuses most on qualitative analysis. Merging the value chain theory with correlated theories, the paper obtains as follows: On the third-party B2B platform, the enterprises'clustering effect includes the effect of resources sharing, the innovation impetus, cost reduction, brand marketing and so on. From the perspective of the value chain, the enterprises'clustering effect on the third-party B2B platform is manifested in two aspects: integration into the value chain to promote enterprise upgrading; market expansion driving enterprises embedded in domestic and global value chain. The paper uses qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis combined method to do the research. The qualitative analysis mainly reflects on the analysis of enterprises'clustering effect from the value chain perspective, which is based on the related theory and literature. In the quantitative analysis the paper takes the enterprises on Alibaba as a case study analysis and adopts the information of enterprises on Alibaba as a data base. So, we get that the quantitative analysis mainly reflects on the choice of markets for different types of enterprises in order to make an analysis of the enterprises'clustering feature and effect on the third-party B2B platform from the perspective of value chain. These data has certain reliability and research value, which is authenticated by the third party. The paper makes the quantitative analysis by using the statistical analysis software SPSS as a tool, in details including description statistics, correlation analysis and logistic regression analysis. It can be seen through the quantitative analysis:(1)According to the enterprises'gathering status on Alibaba, we can get the following features: There are many small and middle enterprises gathering on the platform and they are distributed unevenly, which concentrate mainly in Yangtze River Delta , Pearl River Delta Island and other eastern coastal areas; There are many types of industries on Alibaba, and most of the enterprises belongs to production and processing business model enterprises; There are also a lot of professional markets on Alibaba, which concentrate most in Bohai Rim Economic Circle, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta Island; Alibaba and the enterprises on it work together to promote mutual development.(2)The enterprises with different type of business model, location, quality control and the number of certificates and honor have the different market choices. They are a variety of enterprises, from raw material suppliers to producers, the middle merchants as wholesalers, retailers, and finally to the customer, which compose a comprehensive value chain system. Thus they can embed in various segments of the domestic and global value chains, participate in the labor division of the domestic value chain and the global value chain, and finally help to realize the value increment of the enterprises.Through the study on enterprises'clustering effect of the third-party B2B platform from the value chain perspective, we can draw the following conclusions: On the third-party B2B platform, the enterprises'value chain includes entity value chain and virtual value chain; With the aid of the enterprises'clustering effect of the third-party B2B platform, the small and medium-sized enterprise may form the low cost superiority in the global scope, thus they can have more chance to participate in the division of labor in the domestic value chain and the global value chain effectively; The clustering effect improves the enterprise's innovation ability, which is helpful in the enhancement of product's competitive power, upgrading of the enterprises and promotes the enterprises extending from the low link to the high link of value chain.
