Research On Performance Evaluation Of The Inventory Management In Supply Chain

With the rapid development of science and technology and the advent of knowledge economy, the competition between the enterprises has changed into the competition between the supply chains. Under such a situation that the traditional economic model can not meet the requirements of the rapid economic development, supply chain management model comes into being. Along with depth research into the supply chain management theory and the extensive application of the supply chain practices, the inventory management under the supply chain environment have gained more and cause the attention. Inventory management is so important a part of the supply chain management that effective supply chain inventory management can not only improve each enterprise's inventory management level, but also strengthen the systematicness and integration of whole supply chain and promote the whole supply chain competition edge. A scientific and reasonable performance evaluation is indispensable to the optimization of the supply chain inventory management.The supply chain inventory management, which is different from single enterprise's inventory management, not only depends on inventory management level of each member enterprise, but also the degree of close cooperation between them, so objectively evaluating the supply chain inventory management performance has a lot of difficulties. Nowadays the researches related to the supply chain inventory management performance evaluation, which is more like a supplement to enterprise inventory of the performance evaluation, cannot reflect how the interactions between member enterprises influence supply chain inventory management. Evaluation indexes mainly focus on the operation level of the inventory management, lacking analysis of integrated elements, and still failing to form a comprehensive, systematic and objective performance evaluation system. Therefore, establishing a scientific and reasonable supply chain inventory management performance evaluation index system is problem that requires immediately solution.Based on the research theory elaboration and deep analysis of the supply chain inventory characteristics, this paper constructed a supply chain inventory management performance evaluation system from three aspects of cost index, quality index and integrated index. Cost indicators measure the cost produced from the operation process of supply chain inventory management, mainly including financial cost and resource cost. Quality indicators measure the current operation situation of supply chain inventory management, which constitute three aspects of response, safety and accuracy. Supply chain inventory management Integration indicators play a supportive role, on the one hand, reducing the cost of supply chain inventory, on the other hand maintaining the high quality of supply chain inventory management, which embodied on customer service level and the supply chain members cooperation level. Paper described each index of evaluation system the in details, and tried its best to make index quantification, then constructed the supply chain inventory management performance evaluation model with method of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and also selected a supply chain for example demonstration. With the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, this paper figures out the supply chain inventory management performance level and proved that the performance evaluation model established is operational and scientific.
