Through software SPSS, Geoda095i and Arc View GIS 3.3, this paper utilizes methods of factor analysis, exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA), spatial statistical models and so on to analyze the spatial disparity of the tourism development by region in china, discusses the essential affecting factors of tourism, and gives appropriate policy recommendations based on the results.Firstly, the author selects 7 indicators in terms of tourism revenues, tourist arrivals, tourism spending and so on, uses the factor analysis to carry on comprehensive evaluation of the development of regional tourism industry. And based on the evaluation score and the sub-bitmap, we analysis the differences among different areas, found that tourism of China's eastern coastal areas is more developed than that of the northwestern part.Next, the global and the local spatial distribution characteristics of China's tourism industry are explored based on the ESDA. It's found that the spatial correlation exists in China's 31 provincial tourism developments, classical statistical methods are no longer applicable, and we'll construct a spatial statistical model for further analysis. Then, we choose 9 indicators considering the tourism resources, tourism transportation, tourism reception facilities and tourism services, construct both ordinary linear regression model and spatial regression model to analysis the essential affecting factors. The result shows that the socio-economic situation of the tourist destinations, travel services and facilities, traffic conditions and tourism human resources, quality is tourism development according to the above analysis.
