How to create a strong bond between the staff so that to improve the enterprise's organizational performance is an eternal topic for an enterprise. There are many discussions about corporate culture. It is widely recognized that the good corporate culture, which would take quite a long time to grow, is critical for establishing competitive edge for enterprises. Many researches have proved that corporate culture and performance are closely related. But there are no mature research results or clear answers to the way how corporate culture could affect performance. In addition, researchers have found the specific dimensions of organizational performance, especially focusing on the research of contextual performance, but still no answer to the root cause of contextual performance,This essay aims to figure out several questions.First, this essay tries to dig into key features of the culture of state-owned enterprises (SOE), which represent the core mainstay of Chinese economy.Then it studies whether the SOE culture has been influenced by the Chinese traditional or local business culture and how the integration occurs.Finally, this essay endeavors to solve the influential mechanism between corporate culture and contextual performance.The focus on culture speciality and integration in SOE context represents the innovation of this study. By reviewing and settling the related studies, especially referring to the Schein's model of the basic hypotheses of corporate culture,the essay develops a system to measure the SOE culture scale and builds a reliable and valid questionnaire to measure it. Meanwhile, it builts a research model of "Corporate Culture-Affective Commitment-Contextual Performance"for studying mechanism between culture and contextual performance.This research model is proved by quantatitive studies. First after reviewing and all the relevant researches in this field, it proposes hypotheses and sets up a theoretical mode. Secondly, it runs widespread questionnaires tests among SOE staff in Shandong province to verify the model.Thirdly, the application and limitation are discussed with the wish that this study can provide support to firms's management practice and theoretical work.
