| In the mid-1990s, Shanghai had made it clear to established an international shipping center. It has obtained quite remarkable development for the past ten years. Currently accepted international shipping centers mainly refer to those countries and regions which can provide advanced shipping services, such as London, England, Singapore, Hong Kong and so on. Although China has proposed construction of Shanghai international shipping center as an opportunity to develop advanced shipping services, advanced shipping services enterprises formats in the historical process of gradual accumulation in the shipping industry, achieve changes from labor-intensive to and from capital-intensive to the knowledge-intensive after long-term optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, and form the monopoly of the global shipping resources and configuration ultimately. It is to confront with insurmountable difficulties to become highly knowledge-intensive advanced shipping services only relying on traditional low-cost and labor-intensive methods.It is both an opportunity and a challenge to Shanghai to basically establish an international shipping center which has high-concentrated shipping resources, improved shipping service functions, excellent shipping market environment, efficient modem logistical services, and the ability to allocate global shipping resources in 2020. In this context, the application of the combination between the analysis of theory and case is great practical significance to analyze the present operational situation and coping strategies. This paper firstly analyzes the background and opportunities to construct the Shanghai international shipping center, and then compare the competitive situation of Shanghai from the view of the wings of the Yangtze River Delta and the port of Busan. After analyzing the current monolithic situation, the present state of industry agglomeration area and the current state of the industrial type, it summaries the operation status of Shanghai advanced shipping services business. Next, through utilizing the advanced experience of the development of advanced shipping services of the foreign enterprise, the paper put forward coping strategies to develop the advanced service business in Shanghai, which is based on the theory of industrial cluster. Finally, the paper concludes the research results. |
