Study On Modern Service Industry Competitivenes Of Wuhan

With the socio-economic development, the global economic structure has been gradually transformed from industrial economy to service economy, the development of modern service industry has become an important feature of the modern economy, the competitiveness of modern service industry directly affects a city's economic development. The modern service industry of Wuhan has made great progress in recent years, but there has been some problems when it compared to other city's modern service industry, especially the competitiveness. Study on modern service industry competitiveness of Wuhan will help us understand the characteristics of the city's economy and its internal industry structure of modern service industry, understand advantages and disadvantages of modern service industry of Wuhan, highlight the key areas of development of modern service industry of Wuhan.In this paper, taking the modern service industry competitiveness of Wuhan as the object of study, we define the definition and classification of modern service industry based on the summarizes of concept, theory, classification, research content, research methods of modern service industry in domestic and foreign research. Firstly, we divide the modern service industry development of Wuhan into four stages using time series method:the preparatory phase (1978-1989), growth stage (1990-1997), the rapid growth phase (1998-2003), and healthy development stage (2004-2011), and we analyze and compare the development of modern service industry in Wuhan, The results show that the growth rate of modern service industry, the modern service industry accounts for a proportion of GDP, the modern service industry's employment proportion are rising, and the three production structure in Wuhan is Constantly optimized, the modern service industry becomes the power source of economy development in Wuhan. We use the SWOT method to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the modern service industry in Wuhan. Secondly, in order to have a better understanding of the modern service industry competitiveness of Wuhan, we use the GM(1,1) to predict the Wuhan's modern service industry economic increment, thus reflect the size of the modern service industry competitiveness of Wuhan, The projection indicates that modern service industry in Wuhan will maintain rapid growth trend, and It is expected that the modern service industry economic value added to13.8%of the growth rate of growth during the next five years and modern service industry economic added value will reach5159.93986700Billion which is conducive to grasp the space and urban investment planning of the future development of modern service industry in Wuhan. Thirdly, we use the SSA model to analyze the modern service industry competitiveness of Wuhan and compare the overall competitiveness with the19cities (4municipalities and15deputy provincial cities), The results show that the proportion of Chao yang, fastest growing industries and the overall competitive ability are large and there is a rising trend. But the modern service industry in Wuhan especially the high technology, information industry for economic growth share is small, we should adjust its internal industry structure and increase the economic growth and investment of the modern service industry sectors in the tertiary industry and the whole over the national economy. Finally, we put forward countermeasures to promote the modern service industry competitiveness of Wuhan.
