Business Process Research On Terminal Sales For Apparel

Apparel Terminal Sales (ATS) is terminal unit of apparel industry chain and the last step of value creation and distribution. Therefore, grasping the terminal sale can achieve the real market value of all management for apparel enterprises and their related upstream firms. As the development of global garments market, the level of specialization demands for brand clothing enterprises has become higher since the competition of whole industry grew more and more fiercely. However, there are a lot of problems which involved in the process of terminal operation need study and research in the fields of standard management, flow optimization, operational control and so on.In this paper, the core content of business process in ATS is selected, and then it combines the requirement of development for apparel enterprises in order to build a rational business process document. This new document will include content and format of business process. Then it can provide a reference for brand clothing enterprises achieving standard management, effective operational control based on the canonical process.The main contents in this paper include six parts, and the corresponding conclusions are as following:(1) to define the business process of ATS and relevant concepts. This part will include theoretical study,30 questionnaires on store managers of women brands clothing, interviews with 6 experts, and all of these works will be the basis of defining the business process of ATS and relevant concepts(2) study on the business process status of ATS. This part will contain 3 case studies on women brands clothing,30 questionnaires on store managers of women brands clothing. Then the research results will be used for analyzing the business process statue of ATS.(3) the classification of study object based on business process of ATS. This paper will classify the business process of ATS according to the terminal type and actual need of the study. At the same time, the terminal business core process of direct operational women brands is selected based on the theory of value chain as study object.(4) to establish the indicator system and overall frame of business process of ATS. Firstly, three-level indicators for business process of ATS are built based on the document research and intern experience. The corresponding indicator system is adjusted according to the 100 questionnaires on store managers of women brands clothing, then 6 first level indicators,17 second level indicators, and 47 three level indicators are created. Secondly, the business process and auxiliary process is divided base on the actual investigation. And then three-level indicator system is built which belongs to the business process. The corresponding indicator system include 3 first level indicators,11 seconded level indicators, and 30 three level indicators.Subsequently, three elements of circulation in business administration and document study combined with the author's internship experience are used to establish an overall frame about business process of ATS. Then this frame will be divided into 3 business flow charts, which include logistics flow, cash flow, and information flow according to the different flow process objects. At last, the investigation on 10 store manager of women brands will help this paper ensure the overall frame of business process.(5) to select the core business process based on the FUZZY AHP. This part constructs a FUZZY-AHP model under the experts'fuzzy comprehensive judgment, which can be used for analyzing the indicator system of business process in order to confirm the weights of multi-level indices. As important simulation software, MATLAB is widely studied and used, and this paper uses MATLAB to compute the model based on the judgment results of 8 top administrators in brand clothing enterprises. The computing result on weights of multi-level indices can build core business process, which includes the feedback of sale information, commodity allocation, and daily sale process and so on.(6) to build rational business process of ATS. This part will compare the process file format between 13 enterprises in 8 industries, and then analyze process documents within 5 women brands enterprises. The results can be used to construct core business process of ATS, which contains 7 sub-process documents. All of these sub-process documents will be adjusted according to the interview on 10 store managers of women brands. Lastly, the practical trait of process documents will be proved through the investigation on 12 store managers of women brands.
