Urbanization Landless Farmers' Old-age Security

Land is the fundamental resource for peasants'existence and security. With the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization, more and more farming land has been requisitioned and transformed into non-farming land. Land-losing peasants are gradually increasing and the problems of their old-age caring come into being. Hovering between farmers and city residents, they became "three-no peasants" they have neither land to farm nor posts to take and have no stable and balanced social security to support, which has aroused a widespread concern in society. How to settle them down in a reasonable way and solve the problem of their social security, especially the old-age caring problem, which is their main interest at present, plays a key role in solving the problems concerning agriculture, countryside and farmers and building up a harmonious society. It concerns not only their own welfare but also the stability of society and construction of new socialist countryside. Therefore, this study is of great practical significance as well as theoretical significance.Taking Wuhua district as an example, the thesis starts with the notions of old-caring security for land-losing peasants and theory of social security, comparatively analyzes the relevant results of research and the advanced models at home and abroad, summarizes the practical experience for reference and enlightenment and finally puts forward the solutions.
