Fluorite resources are rich in our country, however, the average grade of fluorite ore is low. Fluorite ore in china are always associated with lead, zinc, barite, calcite, kaolinite and other metal and non-metallic minerals. If we want to make full use our fluorite resource, we must increase technology of mineral processing. Fluorite is often symbiotic with barite. Separating fluorite and barite is significant to utilize fluorite and barite resources comprehensively. The study of object is fluorite mine which have fluorite and barite in Taolin town of Hunan province. This study select the appropriate process, float fluorite and barite collectively firstly, and then separate fluorite and barite. Lastly the study get high-quality fluorite and barite concentrate.The nature of raw ore show that the primary chemical composition of raw ore is SiO2, SO3, CaO, BaO, F and primary mineral of raw ore is fluorite, barite, quartz.For comprehensively utilizing fluorite and barite resources and getting fluorite and barite concentrate, the study decides the process of floating fluorite and barite firstly and separating fluorite and barite then.The best process conditions of rougher flotation of collective flotation are that grinding fineness is75.12%across0.074mm, pH=9, the amount of sodium silicate is1200g/t, the amount of sodium oleate is1200g/t. The best process conditions of concentration I are that sodium silicate dosage is300g/t. After a closed-circuit experimentation of rough flotation and three concentrations, the collective flotation gets collective concentrate which has only1.90%content of SiO2, the result of removing quartz is good, but the quartz needs to be removed furtherly.The raw ore of separating flotation are taken from the collective flotation concentrate of concentrating mill. The best process conditions of rougher flotation of collective flotation are that grinding fineness is66.41%across0.074mm, the amount of sodium silicate is400g/t, the amount of aluminium sulfate is400g/t, the amount of vegetable tannin extract is400g/t, the amount of sodium oleate is800g/t. The best process conditions of concentration I are that the amount of aluminium sulfate is200g/t, the amount of vegetable tannin extract is600g/t, the amount of sodium oleate is600g/t. After a closed-circuit experimentation of rough flotation and five concentrations, the separation flotation gets fluorite concentrate of CaF2grade is95.52%and CaF2recovery is92.13%and barite concentrate only has2.07%content of CaF2.Full flow test proceed in accordance with the best process conditions of collective flotation and separating flotation, the full flow test gets fluorite concentrate of CaF2grade is95.36%and CaF2recovery is82.83%and barite concentrate of BaSO4grade is92.07%and BaSO4recovery is98.01%. The CaF2grade, CaF2recovery, BaSCO4grade and BaSO4recovery of the tailings are very low, the tailings can be directly abandoned. CaF2grade of the fluorite concentrate is higher than95%. the BaSO4grade of barite concentrate is higher than90%. The fluorite Concentrate reach the third fluorite concentrate quality standards, by an anti-flotation which wipes of lead and zinc, CaF2grade of fluorite concentrate is97.35%, reach the second fluorite concentrate quality standards. Barite concentrate reach the second high class of chemical engineering quality standards and first quality standards of the drilling fluid barite powder.Mechanism analysis shows that the PZC of fluorite is6.7, the PZC of barite is3.1, the PZC of quartz is1.9; collecting agent adsorbed in fluorite surface is most, is second in barite surface, followed by quartz at least; sodium oleate is an organic compound that has long carbochain, molecular structure of it has carboxyl(-COO-) and double-linkedcarbon(-C=C-); collecting agent is absorbed in the surface of fluorite and barite, the form of absorption is chemical absorption.
