The Application Of Green Design In Machine Tool Design And Manufacturing

Machine tool is the master machine of machinery manufacturing industry. Currently, theapplications of green design in machine tool design and manufacturing are focus on thegreening of specific machine tool equipments and environmental impact assessment ofspecific machine tool design and manufacturing, which have some limits. In order to share aneffective reference to the greening engineering of manufacturing industry in our country,emergy theory, weighted assessment and system dynamics modeling theory are used inmachine tool design and manufacturing as three green design evaluation tools in this research.Emergy theory is used to analyse the consumption and variation of four kinds of materialand energy resource such as coal in typical machine tool design and manufacturing industriesof China based on relevant data, which including the building of emergy analysis tables andindicators, and the dynamic analysis of emergy consumption.The greening level of typical machine tool design and manufacturing industries in Chinais quantitatively analyzed by weighted assessment method, including the establishment ofevaluation system and indicators, the relevant data normalization and weighted calculation,and the comprehensive analysis of greening level.Two models of numerically controlled lathe design and manufacturing process areestablished by using system dynamics modeling approach. The causal loop analysis andtracking assessment of each variable in models are carried on, and the related mathematicalequations are set up. The relationship is created between the resource consumption andenvironment impact in machine tool design and manufacturing process.At last, an evaluation system flow chart of machine tool green design and manufacturingis put forward by considering emergy theory, weighted assessment and system dynamicsmodeling theory comprehensively so as to provide an approach for the research of machinetool green design and manufacturing.
