Laser cladding remanufacturing technology mainly utilizes thetechnique of laser cladding to repair injured or scrapped parts which losttheir value in use, and the laser remanufacturing products will meet orexceed the new one in the technical performance and quality.This thesis focuses on model slicing algorithm in the laser claddingmanufacturing process, while the research object is the common3Dmodel format of STL(Stereo Lithography) in current industry. As itsexcellent rendering capacities and interactive scene processing capacity,the3D graphics library OpenGL combined with programming by C++isused to realize model visualization. Light treatment is added to realizerealistic display of the model, which is helpful in verifying thecorrectness of the model as well as subsequent processing. A newalgorithm named as directional hierarchical slicing algorithm based onthe classification of triangular facets is proposed to solve thecontradiction between restoration time and restoration accuracy, modelpreprocessed by fixed thickness layered and adjusting layer thickness inaccordance with area change rate of cross-sectional contour. Through theclassification of triangular facets based on their location information, thetimes of judging the intersection between facets and layers decrease andthe computational complexity becomes lower because of the continuity ofthe triangular facet edges. The defects contours are classified, of whichunclosed contours are closed based on the continuity of model. During the research, a restoration case is studied by the FANUCrobot laser cladding system. A new method is proposed to calibrate therelative position and orientation between robot and positioner, with aresult of high precision. Robot cladding path generate from the boundaryinformation of the workpiece defect, simulation of cladding is conductedin Roboguide. Finally, experiments verify the correctness of the boundaryinformation acquired from slicing process.
