With the urgently needed of the sustainable development of a country, re-manufacturing technology has been given increasing attention. Re-manufacturing technology is a useful weapon in eliminating its environmental pollution and reducing the resource waste.Gear parts are an important part in the mechanism. The failures of gear are tooth surface of worm, pitting, spalling, cracks, and broken teeth, etc. Laser cladding and laser hardening are two kinds of laser surface strengthening technology, they have been widely used in the gear surface treatment. According to the requirements of laser manufacturing technology and basing on the theory of laser cladding, the effects of laser technology parameters on the quality of cladding layer is analyzed. Using the powerful parametric design capabilities of PRO/ENGINEER, which is one kind of3D CAD/CAM software, to establish he gear contour, and use the PRO/NC module to generate the NC code of CNC machining of laser cladding. In order to verify the correctness of NC code, CNC simulation is established by using Visual basic6.0. And use the XSL-HL4B which is a multiple functions CNC laser processing system in the laboratory to modify parts of the NC code and doing some experiment to verify the correctness of the NC code. The main contents are as follow:(1) Described the basic theory of laser cladding technology. On the basis of the characteristics of laser cladding, the effects of laser technology parameters on the quality of cladding layer is analyzed carefully, which provide the basis for the choice of laser cladding parameters for future laser cladding experiments.(2) Using PRO/ENGINEER to make a parametric design for the contour of the gear single tooth, the groove with the shape of gear tooth broken part is created. after setting the operating parameters, post-processing and modifying parts of NC code, the NC code of broken part of gear teeth.(3)Simple laser remanufacturing simulation system has been established based on the software platform of Visual Basic6.0. The system’s functions of NC code compilation and trajectory simulation of laser cladding are integrated in the same module, it also can bring about the functions of lexical analysis, syntax analysis and modification to the NC code. Simulating the trajectory of the broken gear teeth of the NC code by that simulation system, and the simulation results meet the requirements. Verifying the correctness and rationality of the NC code and the simulation system.(4) Using the XSL-HL4B which is a CNC laser processing system with multiple functions in the laboratory to check the program forms and modify parts of the NC code. After Some M-assisted instruction of laser processing are added to the NC code, the final NC code of gear teeth broken part which can control the laser processing machine is achieved.
