With the complexity of processing parts increasing and computer technology keepimproving, The numerical controlling simulation technology came into being.The numericalcontrolling simulation reproduce the progress of the NC machining in a virtual3D world,it’san effective mean to verify the correctness of the NC code,which is very important to short thedevelopment cycle of industrial products and reduce development costs.PC-CNC technology is approaching maturity and the market of it is nearly saturated.Embedded NC system is more stable and better in real-time performance than PC-based CNCsystem, and it’s cheaper by the way.With the developing of embedded devices and CNCtechnology, embedded NC system has become a research hotspot.Howerve,embeddedplatform, the the NC simulation technology is not mature, However, due to the limitations ofembedded device hardware conditions and other reasons, the NC simulation technology in theembedded platform is not ripe yet.With investigating the current situation of the NC simulation study,the author design aa NC simulation system for an embedded CNC system,which’s hardware is based onDM3730.The system use OpenGL-ES as its graphics library. All the reseach and achievementsums up as follows:(1) Investigte the current situation of the NC simulation. Based on project needs,choosethe DM3730chip as the hardware’s core and choose Angstrom as operating system,useOpenGL-ES as graphics interface.(2) Design the interface of the system,which is based on TK. Develop OpenGL-ESPython interface, TK and Python interface.
