As one of key technologies for virtual manufacturing, virtual assemblingtechnology has drawn wide attention in academic and industrial circles in recent years.In order to shorten the period of product development, reduce production cost andenhance market competitiveness, the constructed assembly modeling of digital productsprovides convenience for the simulation, analysis and prediction of products’ assemblyperformance during assembly process, finds potential assembly interference and defect,and gives designers the feedback of assembly information. However, virtual assemblingtechnology is still at starting stage and needs further research. In this paper, the keytechnology of virtual assembling is studied based on the commercial CAD softwarePro/Engineer.Firstly, assembly features and their expressions are introduced in assembly model.Through the establishment of assembly feature library and the method of assemblyfeature recognition, assembly features are introduced to CAD system, and the key isassembly feature recognition based on attribute adjacent graph. As a basis of featurerecognition, the essence of the matching for attribute adjacent graph is the analysis ofattribute adjacent graph for parts’ model, the extraction of features’ subgraph, thecomparison of the subgraph and conserved attribute adjacent graph, and parts’normalized definition through assembly feature recognition.Secondly, assembly semantics are proposed and the mapping conditions ofassembly operations and assembly semantics are made clear. Through the constraintdecomposition and constraint driven of assembly semantics, the language meanings ofassembly semantics are transformed into specific information which can be processedby computers. Assembly semantics are more suitable to thinking and communicativehabits of designers, and improve assembling efficiency in some degree.At last, the phonetic system is introduced in CAD software Pro/Engineer. Throughthe research of the state for speech development toolkit, Speech SDK developed byMicrosoft Corporation is chosen as development tool of speech module in this paper. Themain interface which is speech synthesis and speech recognition realized by SpeechSDK, XML language used in user-defined dictionary are analyzed, and the idiographicflow and key technologies which is realized by speech module.
