In the world, metal as the most important engineering material is what people have along history of application, then metal cleaning become a global problem.Dirt such as residual oil, tar, plastocene often accumulate in pipelines, storage tanks,industrial equipment, containers and apparatus, filter, the operating washing well anddownhole operating tools. It’s common in the onshore oil field, offshore oil drilling platform,oil refining and other industries. The surface of the metal machinery equipment also hasplastocene and cleaning it is a diffcult problem that still has no ideal solution.Residual oil after the vacuum distillation of crude oil is known as vacuum residual oil.Heavy oil from the bottom of the atmospheric distillation tower called atmospheric residualoil. The residual oil is the black sticky semi-solid state material. At the refinery, the residual isoften used as coking raw material for the production of petroleum asphalt residual lubricants,petroleum coke and other products. It can also be used as cracking raw materials. The residualoil can be used to produce synthesis gas, hydrogen by partial oxidising process, or as the rawmaterials for producing ethylene in regenerative furnace. At the same time, another importantapplication of the residual is as fuel oil.Therefore, it has very important economic and social significance for our production andlife to manufacture the new water-based detergent which applied on metal surface.In this paper, we determine the cloud point and the dissolving ability of the oil in theresidual oil system of several surfactants whose HLB value is within the range of8to14.Using the weight-loss method to filter out several surfactant for dissolving residual oil onmetal surface with good cleaning effect: NP-7,6501,1227,OP-10,AES,SDBS.It will be screened several surfactant compound, orthogonal experiment one cleaningagent formulations with high descaling rate, as well as the optimum amount of surfactant. Atthe same times, determining the scale removal rate of the cleaning agent on the four kinds ofmetal surfaces of copper, zinc, aluminum and carbon steel, and testing the degreasingtemperature, the degreasing time and the other performance of the cleaning agent. As a result,the metal cleaning agent has a good cleaning effect: it’s low foam and safety, and it also hasexcellent anti-rust property and corrosion resistance, the degreasing rate nearly reaches to100%in2.5h at room temperature.Determining the dissolving station of the several surfactant again. Through thecomparison of the effect of dissolved oil, determing the main component of the new-type water-base residual oil cleaning agent is NP-7. Through doing a large number of orthogonalexperiments to determine the formulation of an efficient water-base residual oil matalcleaning agent, and testing the degreasing temperature, the degreasing time and the otherperformance of the cleaning agent.The results of the experiments show that: at room temperature, after2.5h of cleaning byusing the cleaning agent can achieve better results in the rate of four kinds of metal surfacecleaning. The copper surface skim rate reaches to98.40%, the zinc surface skim rate reachesto99.22%, the aluminum surface skim rate reaches to98.60%and the carbon steel surfaceskim rate reaches to99.57%. The formulation not only has very good cleaning ability, butalso has excellent anti-rust property and corrosion resistance. The cleaning agent is low foam,environmental, low cost, high safety all can meet the industrial demand.
