Network topology is a key step of realizing digitizing power network and is also one ofthe most essential parts of Energy Management System (EMS) and Distribution ManagementSystem (DMS). As a basic common module, its reliability and rapidity directly influence theperformance of EMS and DMS, So the Research on it has important theoretical and practicalvalue.There are many kinds of algorithm for power network topology analysis: searchingalgorithm (Depth-First Search、Breadth-First Search or other deformation)、matrix algorithm(connectivity matrix and adjacency matrix)、algorithm based on voltage-level、algorithm ofdyeing to Petri nets model. Searching algorithm is in common use in all kinds of algorithms,but it often take up a lot of CPU time during computer processing. Based on studyingadvantages and disadvantages of many network topology analysis algorithm, according todesign requirements of network topology part proposed by power system and make use of thegraph theory, this paper proposes a algorithm named connectivity matrix to analysis powernetwork.Take a typical power system model as the research object: make power systemequipment gradation model and topological model on the basis of CIM of IEC61970standard;according to network structure and switch states get node-branch connectivity matrix and itstransposed matrix branch-node connectivity matrix, and then matrix multiplication, get thefirst level connected matrix; utilize the symmetry property of connected matrix, multiply byitself, get full connected matrix which describes the relationships between all vertexes in themap; analyse the full connected matrix with method of comparing each element of line andconfirm nodes which are contained by each connected domain, get the bus model, in the sameway, get the topological island model. In this wise, it completed the connectivity analysis ofwhole power system graph and obtain the topology relation.In addition, combined with the actual situation that a few switch or isolator may beaction during the power system running process, illustrate that the change of switch state willaffect on bus model and topological island model.The last, this paper adopts a typical power system model to verify the correctness of thealgorithm and the algorithm proved to be effective.
