Safety Design Research On The Route Of Underground Garage In Urban Residential Areas

Recently, with the increase of private cars, the underground garage construction ofurban residential areas has been in full swing. Due to various reasons such as the lack ofhumane care, underground garages are often regarded as the container of parking, whichonly meet the routine functions of use but neglect the physiological and psychologicalfeelings of people. More crimes related to the underground garage and fire or trafficaccident showed that residents’ security issues in the garage should be widelyappreciated as a crucial design specification and attached great importance in society.This paper makes some research and discussion on path security design strategy ofunderground garage in urban residential areas and has a systematic and comprehensiveframework of each factor in the hope of providing some reference for future studies.At present, the discussion of underground garage security design in residentialareas in China mainly focus on prevention (geological disasters and war disasters)security, while little research has been made about the security of daily walk, drivingand fire in the garage. There are many factors influencing garage security, mainlyinclude the garage space characteristics, supervisor mode, geological conditions and soon, among which the spatial characteristics of the garage is the fundamental factor todetermine the security. Therefore, this paper focused on how to create high-qualityparking environment and reasonable evacuation path and provide a sense of security forresidents from the view of planning and architectural design in the engineering casesand then combine with the behavioral model of people to design and optimize thegarage space.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter states the researchingbackground and purpose, garage current security situation, the research object, definingthe involved concept, collecting domestic and foreign relevant research theory andachievements, as well as the framework of this paper;The second chapter analyzes thecurrent underground garage environment, space characteristics and the relevantresidents behavior. Then summarize the safety caution of garage path. Through surveys,interdisciplinary research, experience summary and the existing theory, proposes thedesign strategy of underground garage path security in Chinese residential area;Thethird chapter will apply the proposed design strategy into three projects that author participated to optimize the existing problem and improve the strategies;The fourthchapter summarizes the view, draws the conclusion, finds out the deficiency, and guidesthe future research.
